Managing Director
Twenty-six years in earthmoving distribution across Southern Africa.
Shantui has built earthmoving machinery since 1952 and supplies 170 countries. Shantui South Africa exists to make that engineering usable here, with parts on a local shelf, technicians on local roads, and warranty settled in rand by people you can drive to.
Since 1952
There is a meaningful difference between a company that imports machines and a company that supports them. We chose the second business, and it shapes everything.
It is why we carry R48 million of parts instead of ordering on demand. Why we run 26 field service units instead of subcontracting breakdowns. Why our technicians are re-certified annually rather than trained once. And why we will tell you when a machine is the wrong choice for your application, even when we have one in stock.
Our customers are contractors, mines, plant hire businesses, municipalities and farmers. What they have in common is that their machine has to work tomorrow morning. Everything we do is organised around that.

These are not values on a wall. They are the things customers are entitled to hold us to, and the things we measure internally.
Including what it does not do well. A customer who buys the wrong machine because we oversold it is a customer we lose for a decade, and deserve to.
24/7, by a person, with authority to dispatch. Not a call centre, not a ticket.
Stock costs money. Downtime costs more. We carry it so you do not have to.
Every technician we train, every operator we certify and every local supplier we develop makes the industry stronger, and makes our machines more valuable to own.
With an enterprise development programme supporting emerging owner-operators.
Rebuild before replace. Oil, filters and components handled through licensed waste streams.
Shantui's engineering heritage is seventy years deep. Ours in South Africa is more recent, and was built one machine, one breakdown and one satisfied customer at a time.
1952
The company that becomes Shantui Construction Machinery begins operating in Shandong, China. Bulldozers become its defining product line.
2008
Early units arrive through general importers. Performance is good; support is inconsistent, a gap that defines the opportunity.
2017
Founded in Jet Park with a workshop, a parts counter and a commitment to hold stock rather than order on demand.
2019
Formal appointment for South Africa, bringing factory warranty administration, technical escalation and training in-country.
2022
Dedicated mining team, mine-spec build capability and the first resident site technicians on MARC contracts.
2024
Accredited operator and technician training facility opens at Jet Park, with mobile assessment capability for on-site delivery.
2026
Gqeberha opens, completing coverage of every major economic region in the country.
Every branch carries fast-moving parts, has workshop capacity and operates field service units. Wherever you are, the response comes from the nearest one.
