Different ground,
different answer

A machine specification that is right for a Mpumalanga coal strip is wrong for a Western Cape road contract, and both are wrong for a Cape Flats landfill. We start with the material, the cycle and the shift pattern, then choose the iron.

Shantui mining truck and dozer fleet on an opencast operation Opencast mining
Mining

Opencast mining

Coal, chrome, manganese, PGMs and iron ore. Production is relentless, availability targets are contractual, and a machine standing still is measured in tonnes not hours.

  • Overburden. SD32, SD52 and SD90 dozers on strip and dump duty.
  • Loading. SE370LC and SE500LC excavators matched to your hauler pass count.
  • Haulage. 45 t to 90 t rigid trucks with payload monitoring.
  • Haul roads. SG21 graders and SR26T compactors holding rolling resistance down.
  • Mine-spec builds. Fire suppression, proximity detection, isolators and guarding certified to your standard.

Shantui grader and roller train on a South African road rehabilitation contract Roads & infrastructure
Roads

Roads & infrastructure

SANRAL and provincial contracts, district road rehabilitation, township infrastructure and new bulk services. Tolerance is tested, penalties are real, and the programme rarely has slack in it.

  • Layer works. SG16 and SG18 graders with 3D machine-control readiness.
  • Compaction. SR16 to SR22MP matched to your material classification and layer thickness.
  • Surfacing. Asphalt pavers and tandem rollers on project supply.
  • Rehabilitation. Cold milling and in-place recycling for full-depth reclamation.
  • Traffic accommodation. Compact machines for half-width construction under live traffic.

Shantui fleet on a bulk earthworks platform cut in South Africa Bulk earthworks
Construction

Bulk earthworks & construction

Platform cuts, dams, attenuation ponds, industrial parks and logistics hubs. The fleet has to be balanced: one oversized machine waiting on three undersized ones is the most common way to lose money here.

  • Fleet balancing. We size dozers, excavators and loaders against each other, not in isolation.
  • Rental cover. Hire capacity for peak weeks instead of buying for a spike.
  • Cut-and-fill optimisation. Push distance analysis to decide dozer versus scraper versus truck.
  • Programme protection. Standby machine access on contract customers.

Four more sectors we know well

Quarrying & aggregates

High-abrasion applications where GET and undercarriage spend decides profitability. We supply rock-spec buckets, heavy guarding and abrasion-grade wear parts, and we build a measured wear programme from day one so the cost is forecast, not discovered.

  • SL60W and SL70W loaders on primary feed
  • SE245LC and SE330LC on face and stockpile
  • Abrasion-grade GET with wear tracking

Rail & ports

Formation works, ballast handling, siding construction and terminal material handling. Rail projects run to possession windows. The machine has to work in the window it is given, which makes reliability and rapid response non-negotiable.

  • Excavators configured for on-track plant support
  • Loaders and handlers for ballast and terminal duty
  • Machines for crane track and gantry civils

Waste & landfill

Landfill is one of the harshest environments a machine can work in: wire, heat, corrosive leachate and constant debris. Landfill-spec builds are a different machine, not a standard one with a sticker.

  • Trash guarding, sealed compartments, debris screens
  • Landfill compactors for cell density
  • Reversing fans and increased cleaning intervals

Agriculture & forestry

Silage, feedlots, bulk grain handling, farm dams, contour work and forestry roads. Seasonal peaks mean the machine has to be versatile. One loader with three attachments beats three specialised machines standing idle.

  • SL30W and SL50W loaders with quick couplers
  • Compact excavators for dams and drainage
  • Telehandlers for bale and bulk-bag handling

Beyond South Africa

We supply into the region

Machines, parts and technicians regularly cross into Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mozambique. Cross-border logistics, clearing and documentation are handled by our logistics partner, and we plan spares provisioning up front because a border post is not the place to discover a lead time.

  • Consignment spares placed on remote sites
  • Field service deployments on long linear projects
  • Operator training delivered on site, in-country
